I was born in Philadelphia and lived near there for most of my life until I met and married my second husband, Ray, almost 13 years ago.  I have a 26 year old son, Jeff and a 22 year old daughter, Adrea both from my first husband of 17 years.  My daughter just got married this past year, but my son and mother moved in with me almost 2 years ago so there is no empty nest at my house.

I spent most of my working career in banking at every position from teller, lending officer, collections and branch manager.  Finally gave all that fun up after our branch was robbed 3 times my last year and decided the little bit of money you got paid wasn’t worth the risk.  That’s when I married Ray, and my daughter and I moved to Virginia Beach.  My son who was 14 at the time would not come with me and stayed in PA with his father which left me with much sadness and guilt.  He did finally come to live with us almost 2 years ago at the age of 24 and we are working on making him the fine young man I know he can be.  God bless Ray for his patience both with son and my Mom.  He’s a saint.

After moving here I was introduced to a girl who got me into the shipping industry which I have been doing ever since.  I have a great job (most of the time) with flexible hours, which enabled me to be home with Adrea in her teen years and now my mom in her senior years.

Beside my almost full time job, I also sell Avon, which is something I love to do and also did in my 20’s.  It’s a great way to get out and meet people, which I would otherwise not be likely to do, as I am somewhat shy and introverted and very much a homebody.  Speaking of home, I love to decorate and you can almost always find Ray and me in the middle of some sort of project around the house.

My favorite sport is Football, my team is the Eagles and I used to love to go to the games in the late 80’s and tailgate in the freezing cold at Veteran’s Stadium.

I get way too uptight during the games and take them way too much to heart.

I’m passionate about keeping my weight down as I am a lifetime member of weight watchers and have been going on and off ever since I was 14.  Most people consider me fanatical about my weight and working out, but it’s the only way I can keep it under any kind of control.

Another passion is raising awareness of proper skin care and the dangers of the sun after being diagnosed with malignant melanoma 4½ years ago.  I look forward to celebrating the big “5 year” mark this coming August and celebrating the rest of my life with my new sistahs who couldn’t have come along at a better time in my life.
